Hi
Had a 2009 VW Transporter in with ABS light on. Local VW dealer had quoted £275+vat to repair the wiring. Scanned the system and found open circuit fault codes to both rear sensors. I traced the wiring up through the chassis and into the rear load area and on either side, behind the panel the wires had been joined.
Only one of the wires on either side had been soldered, the other 2 wires ( green) had been bared back, touched together and heat shink to hold it in place. The owner has had the van from new and never had any wiring done, so it seems this was original wiring EEEEK ! Anyway, an hour later and a couple of blobs of solder and all was good in the world.
Had a Vito in a while back with a similar problem, faults on both rear sensors. I just didn't believe both sensors could be at fault, so dug a bit deeper, the van had been fitted with a second row of seats, crew cab style, which I assume was installed after manufacturer, looked a professional job though, floor boarded and the trim all matched.
Anyway I came to the conclusion the loom was squashed underneath, rather than pull out all the interior, I added two new wiring looms front to rear under the van and problem sorted.
