Subaru Impreza 2.5 2007 - Cut out on drive - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 2500cc
( Optional) Fault Codes: none

Customer reported car cut out on drive
no spark on cylinders 1 and 4
checked cam and crank sensors all outputting
checked coil wiring to ecu no output
when checked cam belt timing found os inlet cam 7 yes app 7 teeth out
car being returned to garage who replaced crank oil seal 3 months ago
only strange thing is could not see lack of tension on belt or any damaged teeth

Hi Martin
I've seen this a few times on older impreza turbo's. All the cars tensioners where within tolerance and there was no play on belt. Crank pully belt guide was also unmarked. New gates belt fitted to all cars and I've not had one back "Which is amazing as at least two of the cars pull 12sec 1/4 at crail on a regular basis" I'd be really interested if anyone knows of the cause.
