Hi All

Just a quick one for you

This came in today for no front wipers

Checked the fuse for the front wipers in the fuse box under the steering column #47 - OK

Checked fuse for windscreen washers #2 - blown

Seems a blown washer fuse stops the wipers from working

Yes,been caught out with one of these before

.It would seem the current Vag fuse maps can be very misleading/un-informative.(I guess like most modern cars now)!

got slapped from my boss as an apprentice after telling him i had tested the fuses.when he tested found blown fuse and replaced all was fine. wasn't my fault the fuse box was upside down ever since then always check all fuses including those mysterious missing fuses that cant be explained

Good call on that Martin. I normally check all fuses but last week I did a number plate bulb on a Focus with the customer standing over me watching. Did the usual stupid/lazy thing of changing it with the lights on. No problem me thinks, just check the fuse. Parking lights still worked (all four), headlights still worked but no side lights! Checked every fuse for lights listed on the fuse cover and thought I had checked ALL the rest. Sent customer away and studied the diagram to discover a separate fuse for "light switch", which makes a mockery of having different fuses for each side. Didn't even have the heart to charge her for the bulb, so 30 mins wasted as is now normal for this job!

I got caught out on a 2009 mondeo whit a side light circuit down. These do not have fuses but if the
GEM sees a fault on the circuit it switches that
circuit off until it has been repaired.
