Peugeot 307 2.0 2005 - No comms with additive ECU - Fixed #

( Optional ) Scanner Used: Planet

No Comms with Additive ECU. Unplugged and sprayed with switch cleaner, re-assembled Job Done

Hi Steve,

The ADDITIVE ECU can often be found under the passenger seat/carpet.

I have found where some are difficult to get at or I can't find them easily without having to look up their location , that disconnecting the battery also resets/reboots the additive module, but be carefull that you have all codes etc & to allow networks to shut down before disconnecting the battery.

so is it just the case of disconnecting and spraying the connectors with contact cleaner?

Hi Piotr first of all you need to find the bugger. Then simply disconnect check the connectors and spray. Must say we have done at least 30 over the years.

so far job is done I found it behind glovebox - red plug. My question is . Is it just the case of spraying the connector?

Piotr check the connectors first and if all OK yes just spray them.

only me again . What is your experience with this problem . \Mine coem back today with no communication to additive. I bet I will disconnect the plug spray and it will fix the problem but how long for now? What is your opinions

Hi Piotr I have lost count how many of these we have done and not one has come back. Did you check the pins?? are they OK, Is the connector secure on the ECU and clicking into place. Try securing with a cable tie. It's obviously vibrating loose. A new ECU won't cure it either. The wiring is at fault.

I know this thread is a bit old now but how do I/we recognise the additive ecu when we find it? There are quite a few boxes with multiplugs connected on a modern car.

Are they labelled?
