this came to us with knocking in the rear end but it did sound as if it could be the front I established it was transmission related as it was only there on full lock slow turns.

The answer is the limited slip rear diff
The fix drive in figure of 8 for 10 mins allow to sit for 1hr drain diff oil and refill do the same again and then refill problem resolved
