Pountney & Goldney 'Italian' plate

Posted by Anne-Claire on October 25, 2026, 10:53 am

Hello, in case you'd like it for the database, here are photos of a 25.4cm Pountney & Goldney 'Italian' plate. Best regards, Anne-Claire

Thank you for posting this information and images! The DB currently records 10 "Italian" by nearly that many different makers (three are by "unknown maker"), and 8 different patterns by Pountney & Goldney (but not this one). Our DB editor is currently unavailable, but I'll do my best to record your contribution. Might take a few days.

Oh that's great, thank you.
I also have a Toft & May 'Zebra' plate (soup plate, I think) 25.5cm but I'm not if it's of use for the database as it doesn't have a maker's stamp. I read that it differs from the Rogers one in the number of flowers around the border, the mountains and the smaller diamond shapes on the end of the buildings. Would you like me to upload photos?
Best regards,
Anne-Claire

Yes, by all means. A makers or other mark mark is not needed. Often, the maker is known based on various factors. If not, we have a maker ID of "Maker Unknown".
