Can’t identify potential brown westhead moore&co set Posted by Julian on June 12, 2026, 2:31 pm Hey I’m in possession of 23 pieces of this beautiful set, I haven’t been able to identify anything about it though and was hoping someone could help me out? I’m very new to china and antiques so any help would be appreciated.

Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. were in business 1862-1904 in Hanley, Staffordshire. The impressed diamond mark is for January 23, 1875, when BWM & Co registered dinnerware shapes. The company used the same shapes for a number of different printed patterns, including this one which is registered in 1886 (the 42332 number) and probably produced for several years. Have not been able to find a pattern name yet - some of the patterns apparently didn't have names - but hopefully some more information will turn up.

Re: Can’t identify potential brown westhead moore&co set Posted by Len on June 12, 2026, 7:29 pm, in reply to "Re: Can’t identify potential brown westhead moore&co set" Found a few examples of this pattern online (eBay and other places) and they call it Pergolesi, as it was apparently inspired by the work of 18th century designer Michelangelo Pergolesi. Don't know that that is a name BWM & Co gave it, but that seems to be the name generally associated with it now.
