Davenport "Agriculture" Posted by Mary Ann on June 8, 2026, 10:22 pm Hello. I recently purchased this plate at an estate sale for a very reasonable cost. So far I think I've discovered its approximate age. Can anyone tell me whether this "Agriculture" plate was part of a series of plates with the same border, perhaps that showed other occupations? And if so, what was that series called? I have been unable to image match this to anything online.

The "Agriculture" pattern has at least five different scenes, and is known with two different borders. All the scenes are rural but three depict horses being used for plowing. Yours is #10678 in our database. I'm sure you already know this but the numbers on either side of the impressed anchor are for the date the plate itself was manufactured, I can't read yours clearly but might be 38 or 39? For 1838 or 1839. The printed pattern likely dates about the same time.
