Recently, while walking along the Vistula River, where the water level has dropped, I noticed several old bricks exposed near the roots of a tree. Among them, I found a fragment of ceramic, possibly from a square-shaped object, with what appears to be a version of the British Royal Arms on one side, featuring a unicorn and a lion. This discovery has sparked my curiosity, I am amazed at the idea of holding a piece of history that may have traveled so far from its origin. I would be incredibly grateful for any information you could provide on the potential origin, manufacturer, or age of this ceramic piece, or any other resources or experts who might be able to assist me. A number of British potters used their own versions of a Royal Arms mark, which could have been used with various patterns. I'm not finding any in our database with the particular features found on yours, the draped garter in the center and the chain attached to the unicorn's collar. Or the letters underneath! All we can do right now is keep the mark on file and let you know if a mark matching yours does show up. Thanks for sharing it!
