Hi- was wondering if anyone could help me further identify this pattern. I believe it to be ironstone, it has an impressed mark with a crown and Porcelaine Opaque Fell & Co. There is also a cartouche printed mark that reads Palermo TF& Co. I looked at the other Palermo and Fell patterns but couldn't find one like this. Not sure if I have a fake or what? Certainly has attributes of an old pattern. Thanks for any help! Megan

The pattern name "Palermo" is identified in the printed mark.
Fell & Co. was in business in Longton, Staffordshire, using the mark F. & Co. from 1887 to 1892 according to the TCC Database.
The trade name Porcelaine Opaque looks like a marketing gimmick implying it is higher quality French porcelain, instead of basic British earthenware. The trade name Porcelain(e) Opaque was also used by three other potteries according to a list of Pottery Trade Names on The Potteries Museum's website: http://thepotteries.org/trade_names/index.htm
No reason I can see to think it is anything but what it clearly identifies itself to be. Hopefully the appropriate database editor will see it and add it, with your permission to use the images of course.

Thanks so much for the info. I will be glad to share any images as it helps us collectively in the future. It is a very pretty romantic scene and very different from the Palermo that is in database by another manufacturer. Megan

Thanks folks, I'll notify our DB general editor of the pattern.
