New Member - Great Site - Very Helpful

Posted by Mike on December 18, 2016, 5:25 pm

Evening,
I just found your website which I have already found to be helpful, thank you.
I collect naval dinnerware in general and more specifically to transferware the British Royal Navy Mess plates and bowls, mostly 19th century. I have a substantial collection and hopefully I can provide help to others as well as obtaining help as well. I've reviewed what is in the database regarding Royal Navy messware and there are a few patterns which I have (ca 19th ca) which are not in the database. I will upload pix of these at a later time. Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself. Kind Regards and a Merry Christmas to all. Mike

How to Post Pix and TCC Bulletins

Can you post/upload pix of plates/bowls here in the Message Board? And while I can open up 2016 and some earlier TCC Bulletins I've found that the 2012 Bulletins appear to begin loading but then don't? I was looking to review the Confederate Navy study. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

.......... and if the downloads do not work, let me know which bulletins you need and I should be able to email them directly to you.

Mike,

If you email me directly I can supply two articles describing Confederate Navy ceramics.

Frank.

Hi Mike, yes, you can post, but the image must be hosted somewhere (i.e. have a URL). See the "image" button just below the message entry box. If unable to upload, then you can email images to our webmaster; instructions are on this Message Board landing page.

As to your second question, difficulty in downloading TCC Bulletins: I just randomly tested a half dozen or so, including one from 2012, and they do download, but are taking way too long (2012 #3 took about 3 or 4 minutes, which has not been the case in the past. This is certainly not how it should be, so I will have our webmaster look into the problem. In the meantime, go ahead and download, then step away from your computer or work on something else for a few minutes, and the download should appear. Sorry for the inconvenience, we'll get the problem fixed.

Best regards, David, TCC Web Administrator

Welcome Mike!
Yes, I would be pleased to receive patterns, or you could send them to otlink@aol.com as he is the editor who has recorded most if not all of those Royal Navy messware patterns.

Thank you everybody for all of your help and support. I was able to get the TCC's I was looking for and really enjoyed the articles on CSN dinnerware. Very informative and very well written. I will put together some of my RN mess plate transferware and get them to you soon, I am currently overwhelmed by the holidays. Thanks again, Mike

Great to hear from you, Mike! We are all enjoying the holidays and not getting much done in the TCC database currently. But we will be up and at it soon.
