Hello everyone,
I am looking for help identifying the pattern and manufacturer of this unmarked brown transferware platter.
It is an heirloom passed down through my family that reached Genova, Italy, by the 1890s. It has a completely smooth rim and is heavy like ironstone.
The center features a romantic village scene, but the most unique feature is the border: it has a prominent, repeating equal-armed cross motif framed inside gothic lattice panels.
I haven't been able to find another example with this specific cross border anywhere online. Does anyone recognize the pattern name or factory?
Thank you for your expertise!
