Hello everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help identify this unmarked blue transferware bowl.
Details:
Approximately 6 inches in diameter.
About 1½–2 inches deep (shallow berry/dessert bowl).
Blue transfer print on cream-colored earthenware.
No maker's backstamp that I can find.
The only mark is a small hand-painted blue "X" (or Roman numeral) on the underside.
No glow under UV/black light.
Condition is very good with no chips or cracks.
The center scene shows:
A camel and rider
Pyramids
Palm trees
A temple or pavilion
Buildings in the background
The border contains several small scenic panels with ornate floral cartouches.
I'm wondering if this is an English Staffordshire piece and would love to know the maker, pattern name, and approximate age.
Thank you for any help!
