I'm very sad that you lost your lovely heirloom platter. It is/was one of a series with at least nine different center patterns, all print-marked with the series name "Italian Villas". In our Database of Patterns and Sources we simply differentiate by a somewhat arbitrary number, Italian Villas #01- #09. Our nine examples are in purple, red (pink), brown, and black.
There is both good and bad news for finding a replacement. The odds of you finding whichever pattern you possess in combination with a platter (as opposed to plate or bowl) are not good. Over time, you should be able to locate a platter in one of the patterns; more likely would be one of the other forms. If you would provide a quality image of as much of the center pattern as possible, I likely can identify it for you, although it would just be as #01 through #09. I would be pleased to place a complimentary advertisement for you on our website and monthly eNews. However, in my view your best chance of success is to haunt eBay listings for Staffordshire, transferware, platters, etc. Set up a link so you can use the same searches on a regular bases. Hopefully something will turn up, even if not the the same center pattern.
Attached are an image of the center pattern, a red example platter, and all nine entries (again, there may be additional patterns which we have not recorded yet to date). You can drag the images from this post, and probably could enlarge them for a better view.
Please let us know when you locate a replacement.
