Hello Vivian, you are in luck. Your mark indicates a pattern named "Mavis" and the maker as Charles W. McNay of Bridgeness Pottery, 1886 - 1913, Bo'ness, Scotland. The TCC Database of Patterns and Sources includes a plate with the same border as your bowl (or whatever the shape was intended to be). I'll attach images of the plate and border.

Here is the description in our Database of the plate: "Plate, size unknown. Maker is C.W.McNay of Bridgeness Pottery, according to the Scottish Pottery Bulletin #44, p. 7, where the pattern is illustrated. It is described as gray printed dinnerware with a bird. The transfer is gray with red highlights. The floral background provides the branch upon which the bird rests. The back of the bird is towards the viewer. The Mavis pattern is listed on p. 12 in JonesLeishman2012 under the Bridgeness Pottery, Bo'ness. The printed mark of a ribbon, with "Mavis", over a flower stem is illustrated there."
