Oli, most certainly transferware, most likely English, and the dating certainly not far off (impossible to be definitive). We'll see if we can come up with any more information, although at first glance, I don't see this particular pattern in our Database. It looks like it could be from Aesop's Fables, we'll see if we can find out more.
