I have to say that a 'Davenport' replying to the thread about a Davenport piece makes me smile!

I love the idea that it could be used for something like cheese-making. That would be cool.

I will take a look again to see if there are marks that help identify the process - but as I'm a naif I'm not quite sure what to look for. May I ask for any suggestions? Paint drips maybe?
