Hello,

the marks of my flow blue tea service made by samuel alcock the 14th of june 1843 shows SA & Co and the word AQUATINTA. Does anybody know anything about a pattern called aquatinta? Was the artistic aquatinta technique involved in producing the pattern? The pattern shows floral elements and in the center a fish or a dragonlike animal. The pattern looks very similar to the logo of the Alcock company and is shown on the bottom of the tea pot and other parts of the service.
