Hello everyone, here I am with my first transferware mystery. A rather large jug (25 cm) with a rich border and a landscape with a vase, a bird and some flowers. No impressed
mark but a printed pattern name, "Convolvolus". No apparent match in the TCC database.
The pattern is a little similar to Spode's Filigree, but the most intriguing thing is the jug itself: base is uneven, print has alot of defects and glaze is lackluster, almost rough in some
zones. So I have two questions: first at all, if does anyone recognize the pattern or the maker, and, second, can so many defects indicate a pretty old piece or are they just signs of poor
quality? Thank you for any help!
