This is the "Native" pattern by William Adams IV of Stoke. Some researchers have suggested calling it the Ladies of Llangollen pattern, after Sarah Ponsonby and Eleanor Butler who lived for 50 years together in their cottage, Plas Newydd, in Llangollen in Wales, but except for there being two ladies here not a lot else to suggest that identification. Don't know why so many snippets of the same pattern are repeated over the face of the platter either, as most sample pieces feature different patterns or colors. Anyway, a very interesting piece!
