The pattern is #18065 in the TCC Database. It was made by John & Robert Godwin (1834-1864). The pattern is illustrated and discussed in Henrywood2018, along with its source print. Other patterns in the "Pickwick" series also appear on pp. 107-112. I think the color purple was popular from the 1830s onward, perhaps even earlier.
