Hi Amelie. This series by Davenport was called Rhine or Rhenish Views by the factory when introduced in the 1830s. The earliest border consisted of tightly packed radiating lines that look solid from a little distance - this floral border was introduced about 1846 according to Terry Lockett and Geoffrey Godden in their book on Davenport China published in 1989. We have about 16 different views in the database, not sure if these are among them. Obviously they are supposed to be views along the Rhine but it is not known if they are all imaginary (some likely are) or if some are based on real places.
