I am a mudlarker on the river Thames. I recently found this fascinating small piece of transferware , which depicts (what I believe) to be an african family, we can see the mother holding a baby, with children around her. I wonder if this original piece was in relation to the abolition ceramics movement, mentioned here in this article. I wish I could have more context on this fragment...but sadly I just found this piece with a couple pieces without imagery around it. Does anyone have any insight into this?
