David - The term "pit fired into bowl" is my clumsy descriptive phrase, I have no knowledge of how the pit was placed where it is. It is absolutely under what I term the glaze, it is absolutely a fruit pit and is not a piece of "stray or intended clay". I'll try to get an image to the post but will have to wait a bit for some assistance. My interest is to satisfy my curiosity about the piece so hope someone can help.
