The initials, J. E., in your GEM mark suggest one of two Staffordshire firms as possible makers of your GEM pattern. They are James Edwards of Burslem (1842-1854) and John Edwards of Longton and Fenton (1847-1873). A number of Staffordshire potters made a GEM pattern, but one made by either of these potters appears to be unrecorded. Perhaps you would like to send us a picture of the pattern and have us enter it in our Transferware Collectors Club Pattern and Source Print database. If so, we would love to include it.
