Hi Ann, Chet's response is most appropriate. At the meeting you will be able to ask about among attendees for favorite restorers. And there will be a workshop on restoration, as well, so be sure to bring along the piece! The problem as I see it with restoration of transferware is that there are many restorers who can handle the physical part quite well (putting the piece back together, filling chips, "glazing", etc), but only a few are good at color matching and the painting necessary if part of the pattern is missing or if you have pattern loss along a crack. Personally, I often feel it best to put the piece back together, but not to worry about making the damage "invisible" because I often see restoration which is worse (especially after a year or so) than the original damage.
