Thanks for weighing in on this. I too think this piece is an oddity, and while it may not be of particular interest to some transferware collectors, it certainly has a special appeal to folks interested in early California history. I think it's a grand piece of Americana (even though it wasn't made in the USA), one of the more unusual pieces I've been lucky enough to find.
I am happy to let you add it to your database, but ask that you wait for better photos. This photo was a preliminary shot taken mere hours after I acquired the piece (on a chartreuse tablecloth no less!) with poor lighting... good enough to 'get the picture', but I can do much better with little trouble, although it may take a few days until I am able. Also, I reduced my photos to 300 pixels as the instructions for posting on the board indicate, and as an aside I will say this seems absurdly small to really see anything, but I like to follow your rules since I appreciate the opportunity you offer everyone to benefit from the expertise of your members.
