the Wm Lampman and Elizabeth Tormey with 7 children are my family.
Charles,(tax collector in Avoca for 40 years)
Harry (coal miner died at 29 of a heart attack I believe)
Helen died young,
Elizabeth married a Brooks and lived in Scranton. This one I'm not totally sure of. Never met her.
Margaret became a Napoli and moved to Fla and died there,
John died rather young, His first wife died and he married a Helen Howell my aunt Helen
Gene died 20 years ago or more. One daughter and 2 sons. His wife died a while after the birth of the last child.
HOWEVER your dad missed my DAD, James Francis Lampman sibling to all my aunts and uncles above. He actually went by Francis James for some reason having to do with a dead baby that I never understood but it caused us problems when he died. He was married twice. First to Ann Shegelski with 2 children. One died at 14 the other as a baby. He divorced her on grounds of desertion -she moved to NY with the children where they died and she wouldn't come back. He then married my mother Anna Katcher. Didn't find all this out until I was in my 50's.
The Michael Tormey born in 1841 is my great grandfather.
I have the Lampman genealogy going back to about 1650. They came to AMerica in 1709. My Tormey info only goes back to the 1841 Michael and there is a small possibility I have the names of his parents in Ireland, County Meath.
I have loads of newspaper clipping about all these Tormeys and their births, deaths and various other tidbits I would be happy to share.
Avoca was a small community and most of the old names in town are related to the Lampman's or Tormey's.
