After spending the last 8 hours on the Tormey-Lampman connection I wish I had the Lampman habit of hitting a local bar for a quick one. There are so many possible problems with thing you find on line but here goes.
I'm positive Michael T. son of Michael t. Married Elizabeth Sheehan who was born in N.Y. I'm sure it's Sheehan and no other spelling because we have Sheehan's in Avoca and one of them served as a pall bearer for an aunts funeral.
Michael J. Tormey: One source said his parents were Philip T. and Bridgit Kilroy of Ireland. He was born 1841 and baptized in 42. However that source claims Chicago Ill. as a place he lived and died. I know we have a lot of Lampman's in the Midwest especially Wi. and Mn. but I don't recall any in Ill. I need to check the pictures I have of the Marcy Street Cemetery in Duryea, Pa which is just an extension of Avoca. I went to grade school just a block from the cemetery and didn't know all my relatives were buried there.
I know I found a Reilly listed somewhere and I do believe either Meath or West Meath is the proper location of the Tormeys
Our problem is that each generation used the same names over and over again and keeping track of then is beginning to be a problem.
Please keep at it. I have subscriptions to Ancestry, fold3, the Mormon genealogy site and Newspapers. com so I'll try everything I can find.
