Peter, Sr. was born in Seymour, Wisconsin in 1875. In 1915 he moved from Aberdeen, Washington to Portland in 1915. He retired in 1950. He was married only once, to Gertrude, who lived until 1969. Gertrude was born in Mill Shoals, Illinois in 1885. They raised three sons--Earl G., Peter J. and Louis P and one daughter, Cassie, who married to become Cassie Hogan. Earl died some time between 1958 and 1969 but Gertrude was survived by Peter, Jr., Louis and Cassie. At the time of Gertrude's death she had seven grand children and 15 great grand children...and all lived in Portland in 1969. An interesting point from my research: apparently Earl G. was a musician, a guitarist who did gigs in the Portland area in the 1920's and 1930's. From what I could tell he was probably the least "settled" of the immediate family. Also Cassie married soon after becoming an adult and lived at the family home off and on. I believe Mr. Hogan worked for at least some time at the same company as Peter J. Tormey, Senior worked. Anyway, if anyone reading this is descended from Peter J., Sr., please contact me. I'd like to know as much about the Tormeys and their family home as possible.
