1. The player who enjoys the game. This player plays as fairly as his/her cards dictate to get low and keep the scores aligned.
2. The player who has to win at all costs. These players usually pass the singleton queen, even when holding a handful of spades. They are also the ones that when passed a queen and backers hit the first person that exposes themselves to a hit, whether high or low. Often times, in these games the high man is hit constantly.
3. The revenge player. These players have a grudge against a player, or if they get the queen first hand, target the player who gave it to them. I often play a hand to the end, even though I could tram, to see what that person has in their hand. Often, that player could have got low, or could have given a moon to the lowman with the person covering being in 3rd place and not the designated coverer for that hand.
There are many reasons why cards are passed and played; and I totally understand when someone has a badly dealt handÖÖand one can usually see that. I just donít understand why players wont play the game, as best they can, to get low man.
I have seen a lot of anger in the last few weeks, and have sat back and asked myself why would someone get so angry over a game of cards? I have witnessed one player reel off abut 6 names, mine included, as being terrible players in the lobby no less. Since I have never seen myself as a brilliant player, I take it this player felt proud of his/her action. However Iím sure most in the room were thinking the same as me, which was what a pathetic soul. I really enjoy the games I have played with good players who are not only fun and courteous, but try to play their hand to make the game enjoyable.
Itís easy to play revengeÖ.itís much harder to play a well played game and nobody, except category 2 above, minds losing if itís a good game.
Sorry, I needed to post this in the hopes that some will rethink how they play to make is fun for everyone.
