Please visit www.villageoftikiisland.org and click on the "Government" tab, then scroll down and click on the "ConnectCty" tab. This should take you to the registration page where you will enter your information. I have included the latest information that was sent out this morning, below.
"Due to the uncertainty that lies with Hurricane Laura, the Village of Tiki Island is issuing a mandatory evacuation that will go into effect at 1:00 p.m. today. Tidal surge is expected to be 6' to 8'. The outer bands will arrive Wednesday afternoon and at landfall Laura is predicted to be a Category 3 Hurricane with windspeeds of 115 mph.
All vehicles and large boats need to be moved off the Island. All outside items need to be secured or removed completely due to the expected tidal surge.
The 24 hour emergency number for the Police Department is 409-935-6579. If you are elderly and need assistance in evacuating please dial 2-1-1.
Should Hurricane Laura make landfall in the immediate Galveston area, please do not attempt to return to the Island until the all clear has been issued by Mayor Teltschick. Emergency personnel will need to observe the aftermath for downed powerlines as well as clear any debris.
Please stay informed and watch the news for the latest weather updates."
