I'm just asking for help on who I can talk to about missing OT money on my check each month. For the last few months, my OT checks have been between 500$ and 1500$ short. I go to HR but they don't care and tell me they'll get with the LT. The LT's I go to tell me they submitted the sheets and its up to HR. I asked the warden and he just tells me to get with HR. They've now started mandatory OT and I just want to get paid what I work

Make copies of your OT slips and get a pocket calendar to document where and what hours you worked.

HOW DARE YOU ASK TO BE COMPENSATED FOR DOING YOUR JOB!!! You should be grateful, to walk in here, risk your life, bust your a** and get treated like dirt. LOL
Seriously, though, lieutenants blaming HR and HR blaming lieutenants is very common. I remember dealing with that issue, back 20 years ago, when overtime was strictly voluntary. If you’re like me, you don’t care whose fault it is, you just want your money. That’s not asking for too much. Well, this is TDC. They feel like it is.
The Texas Workforce Commission is who you need to reach out to. They deal with this BS on a regular basis and they will fix your problem for you. That’s their job and they can usually fix it with a phone call. TDCJ does not want them all off in their business. No employer does.
Secondly, there are laws that govern the frequency of paydays. If an employer makes a mistake, that’s not your problem. That’s their problem and it’s up to them to make it right. The longer they take to fix it, the deeper that hot water gets. As much as TDC, would like for everyone to believe it, they are not above the law. The rules apply to these yahoos, just like they apply to everyone else.
Now, one thing you can do that will help prevent this is to stop by HR, at the end of the month. Have them look at your overtime and compare what they have, to what you show. It’s an easy fix, if you catch it, before the last day of the month. A signature will fix it and you’ll get your money on time.
If all else fails, snitch on those punks, to the Texas Workforce Commission!!! Drop a dime on those tricks!!!

Keep a record of every day worked and the exact hours. Get copies of your overtime slips. If they won't let you then it is time to call the Natonal Labor Relations board and file a complaint on not getting paid for all hours worked. If you are part of CLEAT the Texas Correctional Officer Union they will also help. Wardens get their money you should get yours. We are not slaves.
