Hi John, With Netscape activated, check the following Netscape settings: To clear the cache, go to Edit, Preferences, Advanced,Cache, and press the "Clear Cache" button - this will clear out any possibly corrupted old web pages in the browser's cache (a temporary storage area for previously viewed pages and images). Hopefull, doing the above will correct the problem. Also, you can get a similar one-page explanation in PDF format by linking to this URL: This is the firt time I've heard of the Lichtenberg Figures being called Beam Trees. Do you happen to know what the beam energy happened to be on the Varian Clinac machine? We rent beam time on industrial facilities and irradiate the plastic using 3-5 MEV. Best regards, -- Bert --

: When I try to look at the page on Litchenberg figures the page is light
: blue
: text on a dark blue background. Am I doing something wrong?
: John Grant
: : : Hello John,
: Sorry about that, and thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I can't seem
: to recreate the problem here in either Netscape or IE. There are actually
: two Lichtenberg pages on the site - one is in the "A Bit of
: Theory" section and the other is in the "Stuff for Sale"
: section. Which page seems to be causing the problem? Does the problem occur
: on the main site, the mirror site, or both?
: It is the "A Bit of Theory" page. I am not sure what you mean by
: "mirror site".
: : Also, whose browser software are you using,
: Netscape.
: and is your browser default
: "colors" setting set to always use the colors and background
: specified by the web page? You may want to try clearing your browser's
: cache and then reloading the page - sometimes an incomplete or corrupted
: copy of a web page may have gotten loaded.
: Thanks for the feedback and good luck!
: I am not up on computers so much of what you have said is beyond me.
: BTW, at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, we call them "beam
: trees".
: I have made very many using the electron beam from a Varian
: "Clinac" treatment machine at the Stanford Hospital. My friend
: retired a few years ago so that source is closed now.
: Thanks for the help.
: John Grant
Select Edit, Preferences, Appearance, and Colors - make sure that the "Always use the colors and background specified by the web page" option is selected. Also, for the "Text and Background" make sure that the "Use System Colors" is NOT selected.
