Sorry for your friend. Red Devil is a b###h! My best advice for her is to drink a LOT of water, the day before, especially the day of, and in the days after. Ginger ale is really good to have on hand. I didn't feel bad until the third day. I finally realized I could take little sips of water every now and then, and that would be enough. I didn't want to eat or drink anything for a few days. Paid a price for it and ended up in the hospital. She has to avoid getting dehydrated. Take the anti nausea drugs whether needed or not!
I wasn't able to work during the Adriamycin/Cytoxan (aka red devil) because I was so weak. She should stock up food now if she doesn't have a good support team. Peanut butter crackers - anything with protein. If she has a Smoothie King nearby, those were a life saver!
I had the cocktail ever other week. My third time was the hardest, and my Onc said I could have it in a hospital setting for the last one. It was a very slow drip for 24 hours instead of over several hours.
Prayers that she will do well.
