It's nice to have a cancer hospital nearby. I didn't, but found later that there is a treatment protocol for most all types of BC, so it didn't matter in the end.
I was diagnosed nearly 7 years ago. My mammogram had missed my tumor, and when I found it, the BC had already spread to my lymph nodes, which meant I was Stage III. I had a lumpectomy, all my nodes removed, chemo and radiation. While it certainly wasn't a picnic, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
