That's obviously a good thing; however, he went onto then tell me about several women he knew that died of breast cancer. I know he means well, and I love him dearly, but I wish people wouldn't say this. I'm very aware of women dying from breast cancer, so I don't need to hear it.
He mentioned he is now suffering from COPD, and he never even smoked. Now I could have said, "Oh yea, I just had a very good friend who died from that." I didn't though. When anyone tells me of a sickness they have I just say I hope everything will be OK. It may go through my mind I know of some people who died from what they have, but I sure don't tell them! Anyway, I'm just venting is all. Does anyone else have to go through with people telling you how they know of someone who died from breast cancer? Yes, we know there are those who do, but I like to focus on how there are so many survivors who live into their old age & die from something else. As we know none of us are going to get out of here alive, so eventually we will all die of something.
