I had a bilateral mastectomy with no expanders and stayed flat for 6 months. I can't believe how much I liked it. I almost stayed flat but decided to go the DIEP flap route and go smaller. Originally a DD and now a C. Considering getting some taken out by lipo because I want to be even smaller. I had no problems with DIEP flap. My friend had surgery the same time as me and she has had implant problems with an infection and capsular contracture. She just had one removed and replaced and is doing great now. I have another friend that has a uni boob. I thought about it and chose to removed the unaffected breast preventatively and decided to be flat over keeping one. Glad I did, because testing on the tissue came back that the cells were lining up to be cancerous. Best of luck to you, thoughts and prayers. Xo
