Hi Amanda, So sorry for your diagnosis. I know this is a roller coaster, but soon you will hopefully have much of it behind you. No reason for guilt. You're certainly entitled to any feelings you have and we're here to encourage you to express them. Do you mind of I ask you if you've had the BRCA test and came up negative or positive? And have any members of your immediate family been diagnosed with breast cancer? If the answer is no to the last question and you're BRAC negative, unless YOU have definitely decided to have a bilateral mastectomy (personal preference), I would absolutely seek a second opinion, which by law your insurance company must pay for. It will not harm you to wait, especially with DCIS which is not invasive and commonly takes many years to grow. Just something to think about. Know that you will be OK in this. We've got your back, sister. Hugs & prayers, Mary
