Don't fear....you will survive chemo...we've all been there and came out on the other side intact...I also was afraid of nausea/vomiting but never did once due to the meds...I would feel "icky" and at the 1st sign of an upset stomach, I would take my anti-nausea med, don't wait until you actually feel nauseated....head it off early!...believe it or not, sometimes my stomach felt better if I ate..you should have seen the cancer nurse that will go over the various side effects and how to deal with them...follow the instructions exactly and you'll be fine
I was advised to keep a journal throughout my cancer treatment..it helped during chemo because I could see when my good and bad days were and I could plan activities around that pattern..I like to brag that I actually went on a cruise during chemo!
I started to lose my hair several weeks into chemo but I also went ahead and shaved my head just to get it over with....Great Clips will do it for free!...I was never vain about my hair so it didn't bother me that much...it started to grow back immediately after my last chemo dose...I didn't wear a wig...I wore soft knit caps because my head got really cold without hair LOL
Just remember, whatever symptoms you encounter, they are all TEMPORARY ...I just kept telling myself that so it was all doable...as the great Zoe says on this site, the symptoms remind you the chemo is working to kill the cancer cells and that reassurance is what really helped me thru chemo
Everyone on this site will give you great advice..listen to them all! Don't worry, you'll be fine
