Hello, my name is Carmen, I just turned 60, I am the single mother of 4 grown children. I work full time, I am the caregiver to my 93 yr old mother, in general terms I always though I had a fairly good life. this is the last thing that I expected to be doing for my 60th bday: In Jan a routine mamogram came back "abnormal" from there on it haz been a rollercoaster, dr appts, biopsys and the news of Cancer on both sides. at the same time my mom got diagnosed with a brain tumor that disabled her very quickly, they gave her 2-4 months to live, so I had to make the decision of taking care of myself first so I could take care of her. I just had a double mastectomy 3 days ago, I am confident that they removed all the cancer, this is such an emotional and nerve wrecking time, and you can't share your feelings with just anyone, so I decided to join this group for moral support, where people will understand what I'm going thru. thanks for reading this. sorry it was so long.
