Robin, I don't think there is any clear answer. For myself, it was the instant my surgery was over. I was VERY reluctant to have chemo and radiation. My Onc told me that perhaps all I needed was surgery, but there was no way to know for sure. They would get clear margins, and I had the choice of just stopping there. Because the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes, I felt chemo and radiation wasn't a choice, but something I literally HAD to do. I've always felt my cancer was gone after surgery. I think the whole 'survivor' thing is a little overkill. We all survive something, thus we are all survivors when we wake up every morning! HUGS. You are definitely a survivor.
