So among Stalin's admirers of all ages, probably some are unaware, some are in denial, some think his services to the Motherland outweigh his crimes, and some flat-out justify his actions. In the article Russ posted earlier, a woman acknowledges his alleged crimes, but blames his underlings. This won't wash, of course (Stalin was either in charge or he wasn't), but it illustrates the human capacity for self-deception. Stalin support also seems to include elements of Russian nationalism and nostalgia for a time when Russia was a more powerful player in geopolitics. Disclaimer: This is my semi-informed opinion; take with several grains of salt. :-)
