: Have a salt-based inground pool. Found
: an extremely thin (between thread/yard
: width) at the bottom of the pool.
: Seems to be a water snake as it was at
: the bottom of the pool for a long time,
: and is still in water, quite happy.
: Looks like a baby - but of what kind do
: not know. It appears to be brownish in
: color with a lighter sripe down its
: back ... hard to tell as it is soooo
: thin. Any idea?
If you could tell me how big around it is - like big around as a pencil - I could probably help. If it is truly thread thin, I would be thinking it might be some sort of Flatworm.
It is clearly harmless, as it does not match the description of any venomous snake.
It would also help to know where you are, as locality data is very important to identification - not exactly where, but what state or portion of what state.
