At that age you know that the parents have not done responsible parenting. When they are young is when you teach a child how to behave with others. I raised 3 children and never had to be ashamed of any of them when we went to friends to visit or in public. My youngest son was just about perfect in his behavior and as a man he is the same way.

My friend told me one time of having a family she knew come to visit her. Their children were so wild they were walking on the back top of her couch and were into everything. The parents sat ignoring it all. Needless to say she never wanted them to come back.
