The books I read fans and air conditioning had not been invented yet and the people sweltered. They opened windows and doors at big parties etc. I thought of all the bugs that would come in.

I don't think the heat bothers me anymore than it did when I was younger. It seems to bother my 52 year old d-i-l much more than me. But she works out in it and I don't.
