We would go to town and watch the fireworks. Our small town would put on a nice display. They have an all day celebration. It starts at 8am with the Scouts putting on a pancake breakfast. Clogging shows, singing, contests etc. all day. Then ending at dark with the fireworks which will last about 45 min. One year my husband had our 2 year old daughter up on his shoulders watching the parade and the newspaper took a picture of them and put it on the front page.

They have a run that goes down the highway past my house in the country. It blocks me in until it is over because of the runners. Way back my d-i-l and I would get so upset because we could not leave to go to yard sales until it was over. I couldn't get out of my driveway.
