When we built our home in the country Al and our 2 sons used a ditch witch to dig the water line from one county road, through the woods to our home. I stood by them and watched. A few days later I started getting long welts appearing on my body and legs. They itched horrible. I went to the doctor and he had never seen anything like it. In the course of time we learned that there was some type of poison ivy, oak etc. as they dug through the dirt in the woods.

I must have breathed in the dust from it. He said because of the way it appeared on me. Overnight these long welts would appear and itch so much so it had to be in my blood stream instead of on my skin. He said they could have got in my eyes also. He gave me shots of Prednisone to try to help me. I just had to wait it out. So I started learning about it and this can happen if you burn it and breathe the smoke.
