He was a good man. I had a good Dad too. There is just my sister and me and I am 10 years older than her. Dad was gone most of the first 2 1/2 years of my life. He was busy fighting in the Phillipines and Okanawna. He came home when I was Almost 3. That must have been so hard on both him and Mom. She had to wait each day for a letter to know he was ok at least on the day he wrote the letter. He became an airline mechanic with Southern Airways when he got out. When I was older he would take me to the hanger with him if he had to go check on anything. If a plane was in for overhaul and was in a safe situation I got to go inside. Could only look in cockpit though. Couldn't go past the door. We used to play checkers and go fishing a lot. Boy, do I miss those days. Miss you and love you Daddy. Can't wait to see you again.
