I had to go for a filling by the gum today. I've had the apt. for a couple months. I hate to be numbed. So my dentist will put the shots around my tooth he is going to work on. Then that tooth and a little of the surrounding area gets numbed. But not half my face or tongue. Most of the time I have no numbing.

He told me he wanted to see if he could fill it without numbing it at all. It did go down under my gum and was close to the nerve. It did hurt a couple times when he had to get close to the nerve or touch it, he would pause and I would regain my composer and tell him to continue. So I had dreaded getting this done and he was able to do it without numbing me. I am so glad.
Say a prayer that it all will heal and not develop any infection which he said can happen when it is so close to the nerve.
